In an introductory chemistry class, students learn basic chemistry knowledge and skills such as the properties of solids, liquids and gases, chemical bonding and radioactivity. Students attending introductory chemistry classes may major in chemistry, science, health care, or any other subject.
Introductory courses in a chemistry class can be taken in high school, community college, or college. It may be part of a general education course or a chemistry degree course. In addition, chemistry is often studied in a variety of Science, Engineering and health care degree programs.

HACKS IN PASSING YOUR CHEMISTRY CLASS
1) TAKE CLASSES
Attendance is associated with success. This is partly a question of more exposure to the subject, and partly about the good side of your coach. If the teacher feels that you have made an honest effort, they will understand more. If your grades are on the edge, you will not disrespect your mentor for putting the time and effort into lectures and labs to gain the benefit of doubt. There is a start, but there is more to attend than simply showing up.
* Arrive on time. Many teachers review concepts at the beginning of the class, usually pointing out possible test problems and reviewing problems that are difficult for most classes to solve.
* Take notes. If it is written on the board, copy it down. If your coach says, write it down. Examples written on the blackboard often show a different approach to solving chemistry problems that are different from what you have in your textbook.
* Sit near the front. This is a matter of attitude. Sitting in front of you engaged in lectures, which can improve your learning. If you sit in the back, it is easier to flab.
2) GET READY FOR CLASSES

* Take responsibility for your learning. If you are confused, let your mentor know this. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
* View chemistry classes as an opportunity rather than a chore.
*Find the chemistry you like and focus on that. Having a positive attitude can be the key to your success.
4) WORKING PROBLEM SET
*Do not copy someone else’s work. Solve the problem yourself.
* Don’t look at the answer to the question until you get the answer yourself.
* You can understand how the problem works, but don’t mistakenly assume that this is a substitute for solving the problem yourself. Work through your own examples. If you encounter problems, please consult a work problem.
* Write down the question you are trying to answer. Write down all the facts you get. Sometimes seeing the way you know to write it down this way will help you recall the way to get the solution.
* If you have the opportunity to help others work on the problem. If you can explain the problem to others, there is a good chance that you really understand it.
5) READING TEXTBOOKS
The easiest way to master chemistry concepts and problems is to see examples of these problems. You can go through some classes without having to open and even have text. Chemistry is not one of these courses. For example, you will use text, and most likely you will have problem assignments in the book. The text will contain the periodic table, glossary and useful information about laboratory techniques and units. Have a text, read it and take it with you to class.
