Brief History of Mathematics
Several civilizations-in China, India, Egypt, Central America and Mesopotamia-contributed to the mathematics we know today. The Sumerians were the first to develop a counting system. Mathematicians developed arithmetic, which included basic operations, multiplication, fractions, and Square Roots.
